In the Star Wars universe fanfilms have become more and more advanced and in many instances just as entertaining and creative as the original material. We spend a good chunk of time watching fanfilms and would like to share this fun part of geekdom with you. In the short film DARTH MAUL: Apprentice, directed by Shawn Bu, we follow the sith apprentice, on a quest for vengeance on a forrest planet. The action sequences (by Vi-Dan Tran) are innovative and takes their time to dwell on the different fighting styles of jedi and sith, that was introduced in the divisive prequels for the origanal Star Wars films by George Lucas. It’s bad form to spoil too much of  the drama in DART MAUL: Apprentice but suffice to say that you are treated to several great light saber battle scenes. Aaaaaaaand in a Galaxy far, far away we have watched how the Internet exploded with excitement over the – apparently – final trailer for Star Wars; the Rise of Skywalker . Just how FINAL the final trailer is, remains to be seen. I remember that the final trailers for the two prequels for Rise of Skywalker, received some additional trailers, although they were mostly released for audiences in other regions. Let’s just enjoy the trailer one more time (check it out below) and below the trailer I will add some of the thoughtful breakdowns and easter egg observations for the trailer that are surfacing in the wake of this final trailer: While I have thoroughly enjoyed most of the Star Wars films after the universe was acquired by Disney, I also think that there are some misfires and downright mistakes that make me want to curb my excitement for this final chapter in the Skywalker saga.  For what it’s worth, I loved Rogue One more than the two newest installments of the story of the Sk...

… and it looks incredible!!! There are going to be fighting on an epic scale both between to star fleets and between the two white and black clad protagonists. As such it looks like this last bit in the epic saga of the Skywalkers will follow the kind-of-mirroring of the latest entries in this story arc. While we have watchted trailers and footage in the past and have been blind sided and fooled by seemingly great spoilers that never made it to the finished films, this one looks like the last light saber fight will take place above a stormy ocean. But we will nver know for sure until the final version of the film hits theaters. … and it looks like we are in for one HELL of a ride. The vigillante Rorschack of the original comic (by Alan Lee) clearly made an impact on the world. We open up with a shot of several rorschack masked men, ominously paraphrasig Anomymous’ famous lithany:”we are every where”. Come to think of it, they may as well be paraphrasing KKK? Once the veiled threat is given, a slow and continously countdown is making the back ground for the rest of the trailer. Tic, toc, tic. This also seems to be a secret password among members of the Rorshack offspring. While the tic-toc’ing becomes more insistant a narrator tells that “they weren’t gone. Just hibernating” and we are treated to doomsday-like panoramas of what seems to be a massacre. Secret police and law enforcers lurks.
